We often receive questions from customers asking, “I want to know if the DeoAce I purchased is genuine or fake.” The bottom line is that there are no counterfeit DeoAce products on the market; they are sold by the same seller but through different distribution channels. However, even if the product you purchase is not fake, it may not be genuine, so in this article we’ll show you how to tell if DeoAce is genuine.
There are no fakes in DeoAce
DeoAce is currently only sold online, and there are no counterfeits.
We have actually conducted distribution surveys and can state with confidence that there are no counterfeits among all products sold worldwide.
It is often said that counterfeit overseas products are circulating, but in reality, even if the outer boxes, containers, and contents are all manufactured overseas and counterfeit products are mixed into Japan, the profit gained is negligible.
Famous brand cosmetics are expensive, so it may be profitable, but there is not much benefit to be gained from distributing counterfeit products such as Deo Ace.
For this reason, we are sometimes asked whether there are counterfeit products in circulation, but there are no counterfeits of any of the DeoAce products sold in Japan.
Counterfeit products exist
There are no counterfeit Deo Ace products, but they are resold in many places.
We only do business with companies that do not violate the law in the Japanese market, so other stores are illegally reselling products that have been purchased through personal imports.
We have been issuing warnings to stores that are deemed to be illegal and have a negative impact on DeoAce, as well as to individuals selling illegal products, but illegal listings continue to occur, and we apologize for the inconvenience this causes to our customers. We will continue to do our utmost to ensure that sales are fair, so we appreciate your understanding.
Personally imported overseas products cannot be sold.
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Bureau of Social Welfare and Public Health also warns on its website that cosmetics made overseas that have been personally imported cannot be sold.
Personal imports of overseas cosmetics are permitted only for personal use, and you cannot sell imported cosmetics to others.
The following permits are usually required to sell or give away imported cosmetics. After obtaining permission, you will also need to submit a notification for each cosmetic product you handle.
- Cosmetics manufacturing and sales license (Article 12 of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Act)
- Cosmetics manufacturing license (Article 13 of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Act)
[Inappropriate cases]
- Selling cosmetics purchased overseas at flea markets, etc.
- Selling overseas cosmetics purchased through a personal import agency site at flea markets, etc.
Selling such cosmetics violates Article 55, Paragraph 1 of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Act, as applied mutatis mutandis by Articles 12, 13, and 62 of the same Act.
*The same prohibition applies to selling medicines, medical devices, and quasi-drugs that have been personally imported.
This rule also applies to DeoAce, and reselling any of our products is prohibited.
It is a necessary rule to ensure that better quality products reach our customers.
We must absolutely avoid an incident where a customer who purchases a product sold through personal import receives a product of inferior quality.
Furthermore, we only provide support to those who have made legitimate purchases, so we will not provide support if the seller is illegal.
